Text

He said to me “If the Chief thinks I am going to him to argue my case it is a mistake for I am a soldier and do not work that way. An erroneous statement was put out about me there last Monday. I wanted to see the Chief on an entirely different matter from that taken to him by the other man, and they knew this when they put out the statement. That looks bad to me. I shall take up this other matter on Friday and say nothing more. I am waiting to see how the pendulum swings.”Copy.
