My dear Mr. Hoover
Because of Mr. Tumulty’s illness and the fact that he has left the City for a rest in the mountains, following his doctor’s orders, I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the eighth of August with its enclosures. I shall take pleasure in laying it before him immediately upon his return.
