Dearest Trudie

I miss you very much. It is lonesome here without you. Yesterday when Sparkling Wit won I wished for you more than I can. I got back all I lost on Scoop and several hundred more. He is a real good colt. It was a sensational race. No luck with sales, so far. I am not feeling as well as last week but hope it is temporary. I am resting in bed most of the time except the afternoons when I sit in the sun. Don’t go into the Grand Stand much.

I think Grayson Buckner should not to to the University this year in the circumstances, but if he changes from the District position to be sure he has the other before acting.

Hope George Harrison comes for a visit. If he comes before September 1st I shall be sorry to miss him. I note what you say about dear little Gordon’s tooth. I am quite homesick to see them and their darling precious Mother.

You cannot imagine what a quiet life I am leading up here. I go to the Barklie’s for lunch and help Arch. with the ladies to the track. What are you going to do about returning here? I am anxious for you to come; yet if it should rain and My Own did not run in the Cup, I feel you would be disappointed—Perhaps Let me know how you feel about it.

Kiss the boys for me and dearest love to my darling Trudie—
