Dearest Trudie
The happiest circumstance about My Own’s winning the Saratoga Cup was the fact that you were there to witness it and was called up in the judges stand to receive the cup. I would love to have seen the race but am so glad you were on hand to receive the Trophy—I was delighted to hear you the over the phone this evening.
I telegraphed Mr. Burch, and thanking his skill as a trainer for the victory.
Bob Gerry sent me a nice telegram, saying he was only galloping at the end and could have broken track record. Mr. Trantor—of FassigTipton Co—also wired me.
Glad Fluvanna made a good showing.
When I was in New York Sunday I called the boys—talked with Gordon and Cary, but they seemed doubtful as to my identity. Asked to speak to Zoona but neither of the the boys or Davis could understand her name over the phone.
Mr. Wilson keeps me on the go early and often. Everything is getting along satisfactorily, so far. I hope Mrs. Wilson is enjoying her visit. She certainly deserves it—She is visting the Hamlin’s at Matapoisat, Mass.
Mrs. Helen went with her.
Received notice to-day from Wire Insurance people that the plaster in William’s room had fallen from a place in the ceiling. Do you think we could wait until Davis returns to repair it?
Hope you return home safe and find the boys and all fine—Give them my love—and rest for my darling—
