Mayflower Steward Iced Confection for Grayson-Gordon Wedding.
The beautiful wedding cake of the Grayson-Gordon wedding in New York, attended by President and Mrs. Wilson, was the work of Shiro Tsuruaski, the Japanese steward on board the Mayflower, President Wilsons yacht. Dr. Grayson was attached to the vessel at one time and one of his warmest admirers is Tsuruaski, who worked ten days on the icing on the cake. The ornaments on the cake were all of icing, and include a miniature bride and groom near the top. The cake was a huge one, about four feet high and two feet in diameter.
