Text

My dear Mr. Stephens:

Tumulty has been kind enough to let me see your interesting letter to him of November 9th, and I want you to know with how much interest I have read it not only, but how deeply I appreciate the whole spirit and purpose of it. We must not allow the results of the recent election to disturb us in any way. Anybody who gets in the way of the proper measures of reconstruction and reform will, I am sure, be the worse for wear when the struggle is over.

Cordially and sincerely yours,
[Woodrow Wilson]

Hon. Dan V. Stephens,
Fremont, Nebraska.
