Dear Admiral
It was most kind of you to write a letter of recommendation for me & I am most grateful for your kind & personal interest.
I was asked to have four copies made of your letter, as well as of the two others—one from Dr. Sam Brown & the second from Mr. Louis S. Cates, President of the Phelps Dodge Co. These coupled with five copies of my application & the results of my physical examination have been forwarded to Washington & I am now awaiting the result.Father sailed last Wednesday tired & saddened by the loss of Senator Robinson, but in seemingly good physical form.
Thank you again for what you have done for me.
Kindest regards & best wishes to you all for a happy summer
Sincerely
Bernard Baruch. Jr.
