Text

TUESDAY, The President put in a fifteen-hour day today. He had conferencees in the morning with Colonel House, who talked with him about the general aspirations of the French, and with Secretary of State Lansing, who told him about his various conferences.

In the afternoon the President conferred with Dr. Wellington Koo, the Chinese Minister to the United States, and also met Premier Delacroix, of Belgium.

After dinner he went to the Crillon Hotel, where he presided over a meeting of the League of Nations Committee. This committee had a distinctly lively session, as the French were explaining the necessity of giving the League, when created, a General Staff of an Army and Navy to enforce its decrees. Of course, the President was opposed to this, but Bourgeois made several long-winded speeches, and it was very late before the President went back to the Murat Palace and to bed.
