MONDAY,
The President attended the initial conference of the League of Nations Committee, which began its work of framing the league constitution. He made a long speech dealing with the subject. Leaving the conference we proceeded to the Chamber of Deputies, where the President was given a reception and made a speech. This was a very formal function and was very largely attended.

Speech at Chamber of Deputies—Reception—Speech pleased the French much—omitted Italy, ly in Closings referred to sacrifices of EnglandAmerica & France—corrected in proof—At night read AGG letters to WW & Mrs W.
