Text

Dear Governor

May I suggest that you substitute some other word for "childish" in the sentence beginning "Punitive damages, dismemberment of empires etc."This sentence may cause dissention, and to apply the term "childish" to the group advocating these things would add fuel to the fire. Of course, what you say is true, but sometimes the truth hurts more than anything else.

I am deeply concerned about what you say about yourself, and I hope you will get to sea at once for a real rest.

Affectionately yours,
EM House
Magnolia, Massachusetts.

Wilson, Woodrow, 1856-1924
