Text

Dear Governor

Every now and then a piece like this appears in the press.

I would like you to know that Gordon went before an Army Medical Board for examination for the line, and without their knowing who he was, and he was rejected on account of his eyes.

This is all of record, but I take it that both he and I will have to submit to the unfair charge of favoritism.

Affectionately yours,
E. M. House
