Text

My dear Mr. Price:

I have your letter of May ninth and wish I could share your hope that the suggestion it makes would, if adopted, lead to an early contemplation of peace, but I must say that in contact with the grim realities of the situation from day to day it is a hope I cannot share.
I am none the less obliged to you for your thoughtfulness in sending me the public-spirited dream you have had.

Cordially and sincerely yours,

Woodrow Wilson
