Text

Dear Sir:
In Mr. Strong’s absence, I am taking the liberty of replying to your letter of December 1st.
Upon inquiry I find that the information desired by you could only be obtained through the Treasury Department in Washington and the Department would in turn have to make a special request of the Trenton banks before it would be possible to obtain such records. It is my understanding that such information is held by the banks as confidential and owing to the difficulty of securing it, I assume that you will not care to pursue the matter further even though your patriotic zeal might impel you to do so.
Your letter will be held pending Mr. Strong’s return and will be called to his attention at that time.
Very truly yours,

Secretary to Mr. Strong.
