Mr. Tumulty
I am obliged for your letter of the 8th. The western trip which I had contemplated taking is so indefinite that I have not made any arrangements or dates, and it is not at all certain that I will be able to get away from Washington. My associates here have drawn up for me a sort of tentative schedule, but everything is contingent on conditions which at present seem rather unsettled.
Yours faithfully,
[Herbert Hoover]
