Text
My dear Senator:
I wish with all my heart that I were free to see Mayor Lea about the case of First Lieutenant Michaelis, but it is literally impossible if I am to do the days’ work, and I beg very earnestly that he will lay the case fully before the Secretary of War from whom I am sure he will get a fair hearing; and can you make me a memorandum. I want to be of service and am trying to center my energies where they will tell most.
With cordial regard,
Sincerely yours,
Woodrow Wilson
Hon. Morris Sheppard,
United States Senate.
