Dr. R. J. Terry,
Washington University,
Medical School,
St. Louis, Mo.
Dear Dr. Terry:
I have had to make inquiries concerning the matter mentioned in your letter of September 14th, and that explains my delay in writing you. Surgeon-General Blue tells me that Dr. John L. Dawson, of 62 Tradd Street, Charleston, S.C., is familiar with the situation on the islands off the Carolina coast and is a very able man. I suggest that you write to Dr. Dawson. I think it possible that Dr. Charles W. Stiles, of the Public Health Service, might be able to give you further information, but I find upon inquiry that he is now at Wilmington, N.C. I can see no reason why you might not write to him direct if you care to do so. Address him are of the Marine Hospital, Wilmington, N.C.
I hope things are going quite satisfactory with you and with the medical school.
Very truly yours,
Secretary.
