Activities in Washington are expanding with the spring. Last Saturday the stranger within the gates could have witnesseed a spirited impromptu show given by the officers of the Remount Station, who were trying out steeds for the cavalry at the grounds of the Horse Show organization. In one end of the Mall, the President was playing golf on the new one-hole course just opened, and at the other Mrs. Harding was watching the Girl Scouts drill, preceding the presentation of her gold Tenderfoot pin and the Edith Cavell medal, given by Mrs. Larz Anderson. The polo experts were galloping from one end of the Mall to the other, and General Pershing was breaking all the speed laws to get to four places, miles apart, to present his compliments to the President, to Mrs. Harding, to the remount wing and to the dashing Quekemeyer, who was leading the poloists. And right in the midst of all, the motor of the former President made the sweep beyond the Paul Jones statue, with Mrs. Wilson and the faithful Admiral Grayson in attendance.
