Text
My dear Dr. Grayson
I got off at Phila. yesterday on my return from Washington and had a talk with Dr. Dercum. The situation is not a nice one but I believe Stockton will be able to go to Texas the first of the year. The Dr did not allow me to see him however and is keeping him quiet. The details with which I am not familiar are to be given me this afternoon and I shall try to arrange to go to Washington again within ten days and report—probably the 6th or the evening of the 7th I am too rushed to write more particulars.
Best wishes—
Yours faithfully
Edw. L. Howe
