Admiral T. Grayson

Dear Sir:-

I am requested and urged by my client, Mr. Aon Shapiro of 203-205 Madison Street, New York City, to call your attention to some experiments bhe has been making in foods and consisting of vegetable and fruit extracts, such as tamarind, cassia fistula, grapes, currents, etc., and ripened by a process which does not deprive them of their vitamines and organic minerals, as a malt extract free from alcohol.

Mr. Shapiro is a food specialist and is anxious to send some sample of his fruit syrups and bread to the President in his hour of distress and would be pleased to have you request the same, if you think it advisable. He feels confident that beneficial results will follow.

Among physicians who highly recommend the food are Dr. D. Robins, Chairman of Medical Association, 152 Henry Street, New York, and Dr. A. Berow, 1453-50th Street, Brooklyn, N. Y. Among the patients of the latter is Mrs. Zimmerman of 280 Monroe Street, New York City, by nature a nervous individual as a result of anaemic condition and indigestion. After an attack of Spanish Influenza last year and numerous drugs, she had liver and kidney and nephretic and rheumatic heart troubles and her life given up by her physician, the Vanderbilt Clinic, the Mount Sinai and the Gouvenieur Hosptals, as she could not retain anything on her stomach and lost 95 pounts and was greatly swollen. On taking these new foods, she is now eating regularly and recovering.

A similar case was that of Mrs. Lifsitz, 217 East Broadway, New York, to whose attention, Mr. Shapiro was called by the first named physician, Since taking the food, her recovery has been assured, after being given up by several doctors.

Other physicians are recommending the foods with successful results and Mr. Shapiro would be pleased to send samples for trial.

I have tried his food in my own family with very satisfactory results.

Very respectfully yours,

James F. Duhamel
