My dear Mr. Lansing

Baron di Valentino has reported to me your desire to have a free translation of the Papal note handed by the Vatican to the English Minister accredited to the Holy See on September 28th, as well as a paraphrase of the various remarks made by Baron Sonnino on the subject, and cabled to me together with the note.

I take pleasure in complying with your request and beg to enclose copy of both the note and said remarks for your personal and confidential information.
