Dear Sir:

There has been submitted to the Navy Department, to the Naval Consulting Board, to Mr. Edison, its President, and to its Members, individually, a very large number, running into the thousands, of inventions, ideas, and suggestions for the benefit of the Navy. To investigate carefully and confidentially each one of these suggestions and to reply individually to the writers, will require a considerable amount of time.

Patience on the part of these patriotic citizens is urgently requested; their letters will be answered perhaps long after their devices have been considered in comparison in the group to which they belong.

Your communication of June 15th, (with model) has been received and is hereby acknowledged.

By direction of the Secretary of the Navy.

Mr. T. H. Price,
Captain, U. S. Navy.
15 Wall Street,
New York City.

To

Theodore H. Price
