My dear Mr. President
I am sorry to have to trouble you about such a small matter but the secrecy with which it is necessary to treat the visit of Prince Arthur of Connaught leaves me no choice.
Breckinridge Long
The President,
The White House.
I am sorry to have to trouble you about such a small matter but the secrecy with which it is necessary to treat the visit of Prince Arthur of Connaught leaves me no choice.
The British Embassy have inquired at what hour on the afternoon of the it would be convenient for you to receive Prince Arthur. It is necessary to fix the hour in order to determine the necessary time for him to take his departure from New York, and they have asked that they be given the information in order that they may advise Prince Arthur as to all the details of his trip before he leaves the other side.
If you can give me this information I will be delighted to see that your wishes are complied with.
Breckinridge Long
The President,
The White House.
