Text

Dear Governor Strong:
I am deeply distressed to learn today of your illness, but I am glad to be reassured by Mr. Warburg that the doctors say that if you take a rest and take life a little easier, you will soon be restored to good health. I earnestly hope that you will do this, and also that you will take merely a furlough from your work for the time being until you can determine more definitely what you want to do. As an active man myself, just as you are, I can sympathize with you deeply in having to abandon your usual active life, and for that reason I think it would be well if you would continue in the Governorship of the Bank, giving it just enough of your time to occupy your active mind. Be assured of my earnest interest in your welfare and of my hope that you may soon be well again.
With warm regards, I am,
