My darling Nell,
We very much appreciated the thoughtfulness which prompted you and Mac to send us the box of fruits and nuts.
We think a great deal about you, and are hoping that the New Year will be rich in the experiences which you most desire.
We are jogging along as usual, and are just now greatly cheered by having Margaret and Helen with us. Their presence will give Christmas an added flavour, and we shall keep them as long as they can stay.
Give our dearest love to the children (excluding Jackie Coogan), and keep for yourselves whatever sentiments you most desire from
Your Loving,
Father
