Woodrow Wilson to John Lind
Mr. J. H. Scheltema, who has been introduced to me by the Minister from Netherlands and who has had twenty-seven years acquaintance with Mexico and Mexicans, is about to visit Mexico again, and I write you this line to say that I feel sure that you can meet him as a responsible and thoroughly informed witness. He would be very glad indeed to have a talk with you.
I read your dispatches each day as usual and you may be sure take them very seriously indeed. I think that we can do something very soon in the line of your suggestions.
In haste, with the deepest regard and appreciation for your indispensable services.
Hon. John Lind,
Vera Cruz, Mexico.
