The Catholic party this morning nominate Federico Gamboa and General Ugenio Rascon as their candidates for the coming elections. Both candidates have officially accepted. Huerta has given in to this move and promises uninfluenced elections. Rascon is a man without political relationship but with a good military career. Gamboa is well known to the Department. It is considered that these candidates should receive the support of the better elements of this Republic. They neither were active in or cognizant of the events of February nineteen hundred and thirteen.
