April 23 1913I am much gratified by your note & by knowing that my little speech was a cause of satisfaction to you.
I think what I said the great mass of our people feelPerhaps the habit of thinking much about the benefit & credit of our country as a whole in Foreign Affairs makes that feeling more naturally find expression from me.
