Text
My dear Mr. Attorney General
Woodrow Wilson
Hon. James C. McReynolds,
Attorney General.
Mr. G. S. MacFarland, who is the editor of Mr. Hearst’s paper in Boston, came to see me the other day. He is a very earnest and genuine man, whom I greatly like, and who is doing his best to hold the papers with which he is associated back from mistaken policies.
He made a very interesting suggestion to me which I am inclined to consider very seriously, namely, the appointment of George Fred Williams as District Attorney for the Boston District. I would very much like to know your own judgment.
He also spoke very warmly of George W. Anderson, once a partner of Williams, and once also a candidate for the office of Attorney General on the Democratic ticket in Massachusetts.
Woodrow Wilson
Hon. James C. McReynolds,
Attorney General.
