Text
My dear Burleson
Woodrow Wilson
Mr. Albert S. Burleson,
Postmaster General.
At Corsicana, Texas there lives a Miss Alice Johnson, who was the adopted daughter of the late Rev. Dr. J. Leighton Wilson. Doctor Wilson was in no way related to me except by his intimate and lifelong affectionate friendship with my father. He was one of the noblest men that every lived, and this lady whom he adopted seems to me an exceptionally fine woman. She very much wants to be postmistress at Corsicana (the post falls vacant next February) and I hope sincerely that you will keep her in mind.
I foresee that I will have to make a number of personal appointments.
Woodrow Wilson
Mr. Albert S. Burleson,
Postmaster General.
