My dear Mr. Secretary:
Will you not be kind enough to have the two following messages sent to House?
“Referring to your 119, shall try to get Miss Tarbell to go over”.
“Referring to your 120, I entirely approve, and hope that you will in my name urge the acquiescence of the Supreme Command. This seems to me essential to a peaceful settlement”.
If you will be kind enough to have these coded and sent as early as possible, I would be very much obliged to you.
Cordially and faithfully yours,
[Woodrow Wilson]
Hon. Robert Lansing,
Secretary of State.
