Text
My dear President Wilson:
I am enclosing an invitation from my very dear friend, Samuel S. Dennis, to the luncheon he is planning to give in Newark on October twenty-ninth to a number of prominent citizens of the State, at which Dr. Mott will speak on behalf of the seven organizations which are to join in the United War Work Campaign for $170,500,000. in November.
You were good enough to say, when I saw you in Washington, that you would be glad to write a letter to Mr. Dennis expressing your interest in the campaign, and I believe that if he can read such a letter from you at the luncheon it will be an inspiration to all who hear it to redouble their efforts to put New Jersey well over the top in this united movement to back up the men at the front and maintain their morale.
With affectionate greeting, believe me
Faithfully and sincerely yours,
Charles W. McAlpin
President Woodrow Wilson,
Washington, DC
