Text
My dear Mr. President:
On Saturday I saw Professor Masaryk and he assured me that he still held the view that it would be impossible to reestablish the Eastern Front; that he did not believe we could count upon the Russians reorganizing as a military force.
Today, however, I have received the enclosed communication from him sending me a cablegram from General Gaida and Dr. Girsa, together with an agreement reached between Professor Masaryk and General Janin as to the general situation.
Will you be good enough to indicate to me what reply you desire made to this communication?
Faithfully yours,
Robert Lansing.
Enclosure:
The President.
