My dear Doc
I enclose a copy of a letter I sent today to the President, in Edith’s care, asking her to bring it to his attention at the earliest possible moment. I want you to know what I have said to him and I hope sincerely that you will do what you can to get him to proceed along these lines. I am sure that it is the right thing to do, but it must be done promptly.
I have just learned that you have been ill and both Nell and I are greatly distressed about it. I hope you are not working yourself to death, aolthough I fear this is the fact, from what I saw of you in Washington and know of your general habits and devotion to duty. Please take care of yourself.
Give your sweet wife my love and kiss the babies for me. You ought to see little Mary Faith. She is getting along splendidly and will soon be able to lick your oldest boy single-handed if she continues to grow at the present rate!
Affectionately yours,
WG McAdoo
