My dear Brother
You know we are raising a $1,500,000 “Baltimore Fund”. This fund is intended to cover the probable needs of the next three years
–(1) Taking care of the dependents of those men who answer the call to the colors.
(2) Providing a fund to carry on Red Cross work.
(3) Providing a fund to continue the regular charitable and social service work in the community.

One hundred teams each with ten members, are at work soliciting subscriptions.
Would it be out of place for you to write me a personal word of approval and encouragement which I might read at the daily luncheon when all the teams meet for conference and reports? Please do if you can.
