My dear Mr. Secretary:
On returning from Washington to-day, I find that Mr. Kent, Vice President of the Bankers Trust Company has written to you and Captain Decker direct in regard to the claim presented for a bounty or commission in connection with the transportation of gold to Europe on the U. S. S. Tennessee.
Permit me to express my warm appreciation of the courtesy extended me when I spoke to you about this matter.
