Text

Dear Mr. President

I have been before the Senate Banking and Currency Committee today to elucidate a plan for currency and banking legislation which is the result of some suggestions made by various members of the Committee when I was last before them.
In drawing this plan I have conferred with Mr. H. P. Davison, of J. P. Morgan & Co., and Mr. Benjamin Strong, Jr. of the Bankers Trust Company of New York. Both of these gentlemen are with me, and we shall be in Washington for several days.
My conviction is that the plan proposed is quite along the lines of your own thoughts, as I understand them. I would be glad to call upon you with Mr. Davison and Mr. Strong to more fully explain the plan if you have the time to give to us.
A note addressed to me at the Army and Navy Club will reach me promptly.

FA Vanderlip
