Text

My dear Mr. President;

After careful consideration I have decided to decline the invitation extended to me by Mr. Ralph C. Norton to return with him to Belgium the latter part of November and take part in the work he represents.

I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to talk over this matter with you, appreciating as I do the great demands upon your time.

I am cherishing the hope that I may yet be of some service overseas and trust that should some task arise in which I might be useful that you will not forget my readiness and eagerness to serve.

We plan to hold regular services next Sunday morning as the epidemic of influenza has to some extent abated.

With all good wishes;

Yours very sincerely,

James H. Taylor
