Text
My dear Mr. Mackenzie:
I saw at once the vital importance of the book on the Ethics of Citizenship of which you speak in your letter of October 30th and know that it would be a great opportunity for anybody, but alas, it is as impossible for me to write a book now as it would be for me to walk to Europe, and I can only say how sorry I am and how much obliged I am to you for having thought of me.
Cordially and sincerely yours,
[Woodrow Wilson]
Rev. Dr. W. Douglas Mackenzie.
Hartford Theological Seminary.
