Text

My dear Admiral

Referring to our conversation of the other day: I feel that I can no longer take any interest in a horse that is run at the Belmont race track. At the same time I do not feel that I should ask you to lose an opportunity to run for such a rich stake as the Belmont Stake. Therefore, I am compelled to sever any connection or relationship we may have in this matter.

It is too bad that those who have racing in charge do not realize that all people are equal on the turf as well as below the turf.

Really, I have had no interest in these horses. If there are any further amounts that I have to pay in connection with them, please let me know so I can close up this matter in all its details.

Always devotedly yours,

Bernie
