My dear Colonel Requin:
Thank you for your exceedingly interesting letter containing information on a subject of such vital importance to us. I appreciate the urgency of immediate action and hope to be able to convey what you have told me to those who will act promptly upon it. America appreciates the spirit of her sister Republic in wishing to save us from cruel blunders.
Mrs. Grayson and I enjoyed meeting you very much, and I shall give myself the pleasure of calling on you.
With sincere appreciation of your valuable letter as well as your kindness, I beg to remain,
Sincerely yours,
Cary T. Grayson
