Text

Dear Harris:

The bearer of this letter, Bernard M. Baruch Jr. is the son of my dear friend, Bernard M. Baruch. This young man is anxious to become an officer in the Intelligence Division of the Naval Reserve.

He is a man of excellent character and integrity. He is a graduate of Harvard University, speaks French and German fluently, and has had a great deal of experience in handling boats. I think he would make a most desirable officer. Whatever you can do to help or advise him, I will greatly appreciate.

If Adolphus Andrews were not in Texas, I know that he would heartily indorse what I write, because he knows him and his father well.

This brings you my warmest regards. I am sorry that we do not meet more often.

Yours sincerely,

Cary T. Grayson
