I want to thank you and Mr. Samuel very warmly for your letter of October 8th. I have read it with a great deal of interest. While it is not feasible for the President to leave Washington at this time, I shall be glad to keep your offer in mind. I know the President will deeply appreciate your thoughtfulness.
