Mr. WT Waggoner
Forth Worth, Texas

Dear Mr. Waggoner, -

I was very much pleased to receive your good letter this morning, and only wish I could have been present when your fellow citizens of Fort Worth honored you - an honor which, as one of your new friends, I well know you more than richly deserved. I repeat, I only wish I could have been with you on this glorious occasion. I can well imagine that it got pretty close to your innermost feelings.

I note what you say about BROADWAY LIMITED and I have been following his work-outs and those of KILKERRY regularly. Pete Walls will be on hands to report to Mr. Vestal. Several people have been trying to get him to ride for them but Max Hirsch has of course kept his promise to me for him to ride for your stable. I have tried to get several jockeys for KILKERRY but those that I could secure it is doubtful as to whether they would be as good as someone Mr. Vestal could pick up at the last moment, if necessary, at Louisville. However, if I can engage a star I will telegraph you.

I am going to pull for you and I only wish that you could be there in person. My good friend, Lord Derby of England, is scheduled to present the cup and I only regret that you will not be there to receive it in person. I would love to have him meet you and you meet him and he is one of my real good friends of many years standing.

I hope your eyes are giving you less trouble than they were when you wrote me.

With warm personal regards and the best of luck - not only on - but always, I am

Your sincere friend,
