Dr. Cary Grayson
Washington, DC

Dear Dr. Grayson

I am sending you, herewith, circular concerning a preparation discovered by a Savannah Physician (now dead), and put up by a Savannah firm of druggists.

I trust you will not think this a case of “Fools rush in where angels fear to tread.”

The remedy (in powder form, which is the best) has been used in our family since its discovery, but always for affections of the throat, lungs, &c.

Only, to-day, I noted the remarks on last page of circular, and a very sincere desire to aid the President induces me to send it.

Savannah is my home. My Mother was born there as well as I, and the Rev. ISK Axson, the uncle of President Wilson’s first wife married my parents, and baptized me.

His grandchildren were my friends and I trust you will pardon what may possibly appear to you unwarranted interference–
Very truly yours,

HM Hammond
(Mrs. MC Hammond)
