Dear Doctor
It occurred to me last night, after mailing my vitally important counsel to you about the “metabolic” process obtainable for the President at 34 Clinton St., Brooklyn. Dr. AL Wood’s “thermal”,- that in view of your unacquaintance with this plant and its processes (else you would surely have taken Mr Wilson there long ago) I should have added a few names and notes that would compel your respect as well as assure you of my competency to speak.
My process is precisely the thing that Prof. John LW Thudichum, MD, of London, before the British Med. Assoc’n, describing his own speedy recovery from lung tuberculosis hereby characterized as: “The most powerful and certain and at the same time most safe and agreeable therapeutic agent in existence.” His standard for the full immersion in pure dry air was 212o
Prof. Wm H. Van Buren, MD, of Bellevue Hosp. Med. College NY, after personal inspection and trial of The Lexington av Bath planned and conducted by me, said to me earnestly (and honestly, as any friend of his knows) “There is no need of your coming to this school to learn therapeutics: you can teach this faculty more than they can teach you.” Our air was 180o to 275o.
To Mr Moxon, neurasthenic, lolling and dozing two hours in my Aero Thermal, 63d St., Englewood, Chicago, 1894, I said playfully, “Don’t you think you’ll stew all the vim out of you this way?” “Can’t fool me! I’m growing stronger every minute!” I’ll tell you the whole story some time.
Very earnestly yours,
Las Casas L. Dean
Thirty years ago I was myself a gone coon from chronic progressive general paralysis. Finally I was let out of it in one treatment and only 202oF., after Prof. Chas K. Mills, MD, of Phila., had faithfully exhausted his great skill on my case.
