Text
The President had breakfast at 9:45 o’clock this morning. I had a conference with him concerning his health. At 11:00 o’clock the Big Four meeting was held here in the temporary White House. The President was determined to hurry things along as fast as possible. The arrangements dealing with the Saar Valley situation was brought enough to a head to warrant the conclusion that this knotty problem had at last been solved.
At one o’clock the President and Mrs. Wilson lunched together, after which the President went for a short ride. Upon his return he resumed the Big Four conference.
The President, Mrs. Wilson and I had dinner, and after dinner the President told me that things had brightened up considerably, and that they had really gotten into working action. The President retired at a late hour.
