Text

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND

Dear Brother

Mr. F. W. Williams, State Agent for our company in Meridian, Mississippi, writes me that the people in the Southern "sticks" have nothing like a full understanding of the present war situation, even being unfamiliar with the reasons for declaring war against Germany. As Mr. Williams expresses it, and he is in close touch with the exact situation in his section, "Many of them (the people out in the "sticks") don't know why we couldn't quit like Russia".

Mr. Williams calls my attention to the enclosed editorial from the "Manufacturers' Record". What do you think of the suggestion contained in the marked paragraph?

With love to you all,

Your affectionate brother,
Joseph R. Wilson
