Text

My dear Marshal Foch

May I not express the very great pleasure with which I have received at the hands of M. Tardieu the photograph of yourself which you were kind enough to send me by him. I hope that at some not distant time I may have the pleasure of thanking you in person, for I am anxious to grasp the hand of the man who has so admirably directed the combined forces associated against Germany, and to whom we all take pride in looking up, as our Commander-in-Chief.

Cordially and sincerely yours,
Woodrow Wilson
