Text

Covington, Kentucky

My dear Mr. President
The Democratic Nominee for United States Senator, Governor Stanley, attempts to justify his action in vetoing the bill prohibiting the teaching of the German language in the public schools, by the statement that he acted in accord with what he considered the wishes of the Administration, and after seeking advice from Washington. Many voters in Kentucky are interested in knowing the facts. May I be permitted to request information on this subject and statement as to whether the Administration regards as disloyal the Governor's action in this matter?

With great respect,

Polk Lafoon
Member of the Kenton County National Defense.
