My dear Mr. Clarkson:
I must say that the enclosed letter, though the writer is entirely unknown to me, has given Mrs. Wilson and me a good deal of concern, and I am going to take the liberty of asking if you will not call the particular attention of the Ohio State Council of Defence to the statements contained in it, with perhaps the suggestion that the County Council of Defence in the County where these ladies reside should investigate them. It would be too bad if the women dependent on our soldiers should be unfairly treated.

Cordially and sincerely yours,

(Signed) WOODROW WILSON

Enclosure.

Mr. Grosvenor B. Clarkson,
Secretary, Council of National Defence.
